Inside N-u80 Airframe Technology 

Developed in collaboration with the North Advanced Textiles Division, N-u80 is North's uncompromising, highest-performing kite airframe material. Woven from 100% Ultra PE, it has five times the tensile strength of polyester at the same weight and is around 50% lighter than North's N-Dure 2 airframe material.

Its 0°/90°/30° construction combines directional stiffness with progressive torsional flexibility. The Ultra PE weave carries the mechanical load, while cross-ply Technora reinforcement helps the airframe hold its shape under load while twisting progressively through turns.

This higher stiffness-to-weight ratio allows North designers to reduce leading-edge and strut diameter without compromising structural integrity, creating a slimmer, lighter, and lower-drag airframe.

Built for High-Performance Freeride

The Reach Ultra pairs a higher aspect ratio than the iconic Reach with a five-point bridle designed to support its thinner, lighter leading edge. N-u80's dynamic torsion allows the

kite to respond earlier, turn faster and require less steering input, without sacrificing the quick, intuitive handling that defines the Reach.

The five-point bridle is tuned for stronger low-end performance and increased depower, while the lighter construction improves relaunch. Together, these refinements create a faster, more energetic Reach with greater stability and control, even in strong and gusty conditions.

The Reach Ultra builds on the versatility of the iconic Reach, bringing a new level of speed, responsiveness and control to different disciplines and conditions.
